.:NEWS:. The Wolf, Death and the Acorn's first album Sea Folk from the Turning Tide is being mixed and mastered and will be available winter 2011 .:NEWS:.
The Wolf, Death and the Acorn is a continuously evolving performance outfit, which acts as an umbrella for my songs and experimental ritualistic live performances. It ranges from folk songs on the bouzouki and harp to harp noise performances to the recent full live band shows driven by percussion. The songs and rituals explore an amalgamation of esoteric themes, driven along by the music as a porthole to ecstatic frenzy or complete peace. With the rituals I also seek to disrupt the divide between the spectator and the spectacle, luring the audience into the present moment.
The name ‘Wolf Death Acorn’ refers to the notion of Life/Death/Life, with the Acorn holding the potential to become the Mighty Oak. This is a reference to a cyclical conception of time, as this notion offers room for the idea of renewal that a linear conception of time cannot. This proved the most fitting name for this constantly renewing and evolving project.
